A PMO Officer is required for our client based in Manchester for a 2 year fixed term contract. This is a hybrid position, 2 days per week on site (please only apply if you can commit to hybrid working).

The role holder will contribute to the successful delivery of work packages, ensuring compliance with the project management methodology. The role holder will assist the Programme Director, relevant project managers, project teams and persons within the business in ensuring the effective management of change.

Key Role Accountabilities (not limited to):

  • Assist in the day-to-day management of the programme, projects and workstreams throughout the life cycle, ensuring the project's successful execution.
  • Respond to all relevant correspondence, enquiries and complaints as required in a timely and effective manner.
  • Accurately administer the project budget, inputting information and extracting budget reports from the finance system.
  • Control and maintain project risk and Issue logs, including updating the relevant schedules, recording and distributing the details of new risks and issuing and expediting resulting actions with their designated owners.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, third party vendors, agencies and subcontractors, expediting and reporting progress to the Programme Director and Project Manager as appropriate.
  • Resolve day-to-day project issues, as delegated by the Programme Director and Project Manager, escalating them as necessary to the appropriate level. To maintain project files to the required standard and to complete project administrative tasks in accordance with guidelines and procedures.

Experience

  • Previous experience as a Project Officer within a large organisation
  • Experience of working with ICT system implementation projects
  • Experience of working on transformational projects
  • Ideally worked within governance structures
  • Basic understanding of risk management and the capability to hold and update the project risk log
  • Ability to organise multiple tasks in the most effective way, and allocate time and energy according to task complexity and priority
  • Demonstrable knowledge of procurement processes and systems.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders
