IT Service Desk 2nd / 3rd line Support Engineer – 24x7 ops

Looking for an experienced IT service desk, IT support Engineer to join a new 24x7 operations team. Providing 2nd and 3rd line IT support with patching & infrastructure experience. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This is working in the defence and security industry so there are exciting projects coming live all the time.

Responsibilities will include:

Incident Management: Respond to and resolve complex incidents. Provide efficient and timely solutions to maintain high service levels. Manage P1 communications and technical incident calls if required.

Patch Management: Regularly test and patch systems and software to ensure security and functionality. This includes scheduled maintenance and ad-hoc tasks.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting
Documentation
Communication
Continuous Improvement
You will have extensive, recent commercial IT Support, covering 2nd line and 3rd Line duties. Technologies include but not limited to:

Windows 10 /11
Office 365 suite
Windows Server 2016 to 2022
Active Directory Administration
VMware Horizon, ESXi & vSphere
Enterprise Cloud Platforms – Azure/AWS
Mobile Device Management Solutions
Software/Hardware Infrastructure Patching
End User Hardware - Laptops/Thin Clients
Enterprise Backup Solutions
Anti-Virus Solutions
Networking Fundamentals
SharePoint Administration
ITIL qualified
This is an excellent MSP with offices in Stoke On Trent, going from strength to strength. You would be joining a newly created team so a great time to join and be part of the journey!!!

Working autonomously under your own initiative but in a collaborative company, someone who is proactive and likes working to ITIL best practice.

Due to the nature of the business this would suit someone who currently holds Security Clearance, or be able to obtain SC clearance, with a view to obtaining DV clearance. The role will require someone who can drive due to the 24 x 7 element and shift patterns.
