The Communications Planning Manager is a strategic role that sits at the heart of our marketing communications team, working closely with numerous stakeholders, and leading agencies, to develop and implement audience-led communications plans. This role focuses on storytelling, pitching, and influencing strategies across all our channels to drive brand transformation and business objectives. This role is seeking someone with strong thought leadership skills who can build and change a narrative from product focused to lifestyle.

The ideal candidate will come from a leading agency or consultancy and be comfortable with various reporting lines, including C-suite. You will work on many projects and departments creating synergy across the enterprise.

This role is pivotal in driving my clients vision to become the most personal, customer-focused brand in the UK. By leading the development of strategic communications plans, the Communications Planning Manager will help position them as a leading tech brand and guide its journey into new categories like consumer electronics, home security and potentially financial services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop integrated, audience-focused brand and communications plans.
  • Lead strategic thinking and communications planning across all channels including paid, owned, and earned channels.
  • Act as the main interface with media and creative agencies, setting direction and creating briefs.
  • Proactively manage multiple senior stakeholder relationships up to the CEO level and everything in between.
  • Drive change and brand transformation by turning complex strategies into actionable plans.
  • Influence and pitch ideas effectively to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ensure alignment of communication strategies with brand performance KPIs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate communications across all touchpoints, from TV ads to social media and in-store experiences.

What We're Looking For:

  • 10+ years in communications planning, must be from an agency or consulting background.
  • Experience working within the consumer tech industry with large international organisations is desired.
  • Proven ability in strategic thinking, story-telling, and pitching.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven approach to planning, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to think on your feet.
  • Proactive, agile, and able to manage and drive change.
  • Strong leadership qualities with a passion for brand transformation and innovation.
  • Digital proficiency and experience with various communication channels and media.
  • Someone who is passionate about brand transformation, proactive, overachieving, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Must be willing to be in the office 3 days a week to foster team culture and collaboration.

Interview Process:

  1. First Round: Task-based interview focusing on storytelling, pitching, and strategic thinking.
  2. Second Round: Panel interview with marketing directors, focusing on Q&A and behavioural assessment.
  3. Final Round: Culture fit chat to ensure alignment with team values and dynamics.
