HR Specialist| 6 months (Part Time Inside IR35)| Mainly Remote (Scotland)

Harvey Nash's Client is recruiting for a HR Specialist on a 6 month contract. This is a part time role with the expectation to work 2 days a week.

Main Responsibilities

  • Understand and articulate the business/functional needs of the organisation. This will include reviewing staff role profiles/structure and identifying overlaps and gaps.
  • Reviewing and defining options on potential organisation structures for decision by the Interim CEO and the Board considering the functional needs of the organisation.
  • Develop role profiles and objectives for members of the Leadership Team to ensure that responsibilities of the functional needs of the organisation are well defined. This work will require extensive engagement with senior members of staff both directly and indirectly impacted.
  • Work with members of the Leadership Team to review and revise role profiles within each team to ensure responsibilities are defined and delegated throughout the organisation. This work will require engagement with staff within teams as recommended by the line manager.
  • Review and advise on the objectives setting and performance management process and templates.
  • Work with staff to perform an Equality Impact Assessment and implement actions should this be required.
  • Review employment contracts and assist on standardising.
  • Advise the organisation on ways to fulfil its HR function on an ongoing basis.
  • Advice on ways to develop and refine organisational values and culture.
  • Provide written and verbal updates to the CEO, in order to inform project updates to governance boards.

Key Skills

  • Organisational design and leading and managing organisational restructuring.
  • Leading a HR function.
  • Managing change and communicating and listening to senior members of staff during the change process.
  • Giving advice to non-HR specialists and senior leaders to help them understand best practice and relevant legislation relating to HR and the risks and opportunities relating to projects such as the organisational change initiative proposed.
  • Commitment to promoting equality and diversity, ensuring this is Embedded in the culture of organisation and team.

This role falls inside of IR35 and is fully remote working but will require occasional office attendance to one of the offices in Scotland for team meetings.
