We are recruiting on behalf of a leading cloud solutions provider specialising in digital transformation and data engineering services with a mission to empower organisations to unlock the full potential of their data through innovative cloud-based solutions. As they continue to expand the team, they are seeking a talented AWS Data Engineer to design and implement data engineering solutions for their customers' migration projects, focusing on migrating Legacy Oracle databases to AWS managed databases and optimizing data processing using AWS services such as AWS Glue, AWS Managed Flink, S3, AWS RDS, and Lambda functions.

Job Description: As an AWS Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing data engineering solutions for our clients' migration projects. Your primary responsibility will be to develop ETL processes, data pipelines, and data processing workflows using AWS services to extract, transform, and load data from Legacy Oracle databases into AWS managed databases, document databases, and data lakes. Additionally, you will leverage your expertise in AWS Glue, AWS Managed Flink, S3, AWS RDS, and Lambda functions to optimize data processing and analytics capabilities in the cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement ETL processes using AWS Glue to extract, transform, and load data from Legacy Oracle databases into AWS managed databases, document databases, and data lakes.
  2. Develop and maintain data pipelines and data processing workflows using AWS services to automate data ingestion, transformation, and enrichment processes.
  3. Utilize AWS Managed Flink for Real Time data processing and analytics, ensuring high performance and scalability.
  4. Implement data engineering solutions using AWS S3, AWS RDS, and Lambda functions to support batch and Real Time data processing requirements.
  5. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including AWS architects, developers, and business analysts, to ensure alignment with project objectives and requirements.
  6. Perform data modelling, schema design, and optimization to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval in the cloud environment.
  7. Ensure data governance, security, and compliance requirements are implemented and maintained throughout the data engineering processes.
  8. Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior team members involved in data engineering projects.
  9. Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in AWS cloud services, data engineering technologies, and migration strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a focus on AWS cloud technologies.
  • Strong expertise in designing and implementing ETL processes, data pipelines, and data processing workflows in cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in AWS services such as AWS Glue, AWS Managed Flink, S3, AWS RDS, and Lambda functions.
  • Hands-on experience with data modelling, schema design, and optimization techniques.
  • Experience with Real Time data processing and analytics using AWS Managed Flink or similar technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
