Our client are a top tier consulting firm looking for an Interaction Designer on a 6 months contract.

Role Overview:

The Interaction Designer will be responsible for designing user interfaces and interactive experiences that are intuitive, accessible, and comply with GDS standards. The successful candidate will work closely with user researchers, product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to create prototypes and design solutions that meet user needs and business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Design user interfaces and interactive experiences that are user-centered and compliant with GDS standards.

Create and iterate on prototypes using the GDS prototyping toolkit to explore and validate design concepts.

Collaborate with user researchers to conduct usability testing and incorporate user feedback into design iterations.

Work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure design solutions meet user needs and business objectives.

Produce high-quality design documentation, including wireframes, interaction flows, and design specifications.

Ensure all designs adhere to accessibility standards and best practices.

Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.

Advocate for user-centered design principles and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Experience:

Proven experience as an Interaction Designer or similar role in a digital environment.

Strong understanding of Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and guidelines.

Proficiency in using the GDS prototyping toolkit to create interactive prototypes.

Excellent design skills with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions.

Experience conducting and incorporating findings from usability testing.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices.
