The Client is a large European Cable Operator offering triple-play and over-the-top video services to its customers. We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer responsible to lead and/or contribute into the design and delivery of network projects supporting IT data centers.

Main responsibilities are:

  • Build of new network across the Client's footprint including additional capacity to support growth and product roadmap;
  • Assist with the day to day business within the Network Planning Team;
  • Contribution to the Mergers & Acquisitions process in terms of technical assessments of the networks in question;
  • Achieve project related deliverables within agreed and communicated timelines;
  • Problem resolution within agreed SLAs;
  • Performance, resilience and stability of the network design solutions provided;
  • Engineering design:
    • Understand the business requirements and translate them into technical network solutions (capacity and functionalities)
    • Produce detailed network layouts and data centre design;
    • Creation of the network Low Level Design (LLD) based on the High Level Design (HLD) and the Connectivity Matrix;
    • As part of the LLD, validate that the network can support the required capacity;
    • Design and plan the Datacentre network in an optimal and cost effective way, according to company technical guidelines;
    • Produce network engineering solutions and designs, implementation & migration plans and documents taking into account all related network elements;
    • Review and validate design and migration plans of consultant engineers.
  • Implementation
    • Create a Change Request ticket describing in detail the network changes required to support new projects needs;
    • Provide impact assessment describing potential risks and impact on running business services; create roll-back plan;
    • Present the Change Requests to Change Approval Board and gain authorization to implement them;
    • Implement the required changes across the network equipment within designated maintenance hours and follow the procedures prescribed by the Change Management processes;
    • Hand over the implemented changes to Operations and to 3rd parties;

Education, Key knowledge and experience required:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in IP Networking and service providers
  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology or Computer/Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience;
  • Strong knowledge of ISP Data centers Design with special focus on IP Networks, Security and Application Delivery Solutions;
  • Strong knowledge of high end Cisco and Nexus platforms;
  • Strong knowledge of Checkpoint Firewalls and F5 load balancers (Application Delivery Controller) including Management Infrastructure as well as Firewall Enforcement Points;
  • Very strong troubleshooting skills;
  • Experience with Cisco ACI and SDN
  • Excellent mastering of Microsoft Visio for network diagrams/designs
  • Good Experience with Unix Systems and Scripting languages;
  • Experience in the design and build of networks and services, creation of LLDs and HLDs, network capacity validation, project management, as well as relevant IT skills;
  • Good understanding of MPLS and dynamic routing protocols
  • Expert user of Microsoft Windows, Office Suite and Visio;
  • Fluent in spoken and written English;
  • Good interpersonal skills, able communicator;
  • Experience in multinational and multicultural environments.
