An inspirational manufacturing success story, this food manufacturing business combines a passion for innovation with an entrepreneurial approach. As part of their succession plan, they are now seeking to appoint an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead a team of 100+ individuals within a modern purpose-built factory across Production, Planning and Engineering.
The appointed Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for the planning and co-ordination of the Production team, including the management of KPIs such as: Monitoring achievement against Production Plan, Production Efficiency, Operating Efficiency, Equipment Efficiency, Direct Labour cost and Production Budget monitoring and reporting.
People management is a critical element of this role and applicants need to have a high level of gravitas and credibility to inspire and motivate their team. The jobholder will continually engage with colleagues from other departments and will assess the performance of their team to identify opportunities for performance development.
As the complexity of the production facility is increasing, the Manufacturing Manager will need to apply a process-driven approach to both automated and non-automated areas. Working closely with Technical, Engineering, Supply Chain and Operations, the Manufacturing Manager will ensure Manufacturing excellence, utilising the tools and techniques of continuous improvement to further improve performance.
Although the site is already functioning at a high level, it is vital that the Manufacturing Manager has a passion for improvement and can cascade this passion through their team to enable the delivery of the manufacturing plan. The longer-term career path for the Manufacturing Manager is to develop into the natural successor to the Operations Director and there will be the opportunity of working closely with the Operations Director on strategic projects.
Applicants will have gained previous experience managing an autonomous production area within Food & Drink manufacturing, where operational and technical challenges are constant. We are seeking to hear from Manufacturing Managers who "know what good looks like" and have a demonstrable track-record working for industry leaders within the food and drink sector.
The Manufacturing Manager appointed will receive an excellent salary from £60,000 pa to £70,000 pa depending on experience, plus benefits. Assistance with relocation costs may be available to an applicant from outside the area
