Job Title: Contracts Management Support Officer

Location: East London, England

Contract Type: Temporary, 3 months

Hourly Rate: £19.48 - £24.24 (PAYE or Umbrella)

Our client, an organisation in East London, is seeking a Contracts Management Support Officer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to waste and environmental maintenance related contracts and Public Realm Services. If you have technical knowledge and experience in the waste, recycling, and environmental services industries, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

Provide waste and environmental maintenance operational advice to colleagues and residents.
Identify and investigate problems with waste and recycling collection services, working with stakeholders to find solutions.
Investigate and respond to complaints regarding waste and recycling contractors' work.
Analyse and utilise performance data to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
Monitor contracts and ensure compliance with the Service Level Agreement and health and safety laws.
Carry out site visits to inspect contract performance and wear appropriate clothing and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.
Update and maintain monitoring data in a logical and concise manner.
Provide specialist advice to the Contact Centre regarding waste and recycling services.
Advise on planning applications to ensure compliance with waste collection standards and health and safety laws.
Ensure contractors comply with relevant health and safety policies and undertake risk assessments and audits.
Support stock control for assets within the waste and recycling section through site visits and regular audits.
Promote the council's waste management services through distribution of promotional material and customer communication.
Provide daily service updates to councillors, the contact centre, and internal stakeholders to ensure up-to-date information.
Conduct monitoring inspections for public realm-related services.
Foster effective collaboration with other council departments, contractors, and stakeholders.
Attend contract meetings, record minutes, and follow up on actions as necessary.Requirements:

Technical knowledge and experience in contracts and operations within the waste, recycling, and environmental services industries.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other IT systems, including customer management and asset management systems.
Flexible approach to working arrangements, including hours, locations, and leave.
Current driving licence and access to a car.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong customer service skills and a dedication to meeting customer needs.
Results-oriented mindset with the ability to monitor and evaluate performance to achieve targets.
Effective planning and prioritisation skills.
Respect for others and commitment to equity and diversity.
