The Electrical Design Engineer will support the design and development of flexible PCB, cables and heater designs.
Primary responsibility involves both electrical and mechanical design for all polyimide flexible heaters and cables used in the Semiconductor and Aerospace industries.
This position will support all phases of design, including material stack up selection, schematic capture, layout, routing, generation of Gerber files, assembly drawings and other required fabrication drawings and documentation as required. The successful candidate will be a resourceful problem solver who is able to work around technical obstacles and work independently with little direct supervision.
This position requires access to information controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the successful candidate must be a "U.S. person" as defined in the ITAR and EAR (which generally means (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (iii) have been admitted to the United States as a refugee, or have been granted asylum, as specified under applicable law.
-New product development - Flexible circuits
-Prepare fabrication drawings, manufacturing data, Gerber files
-Create drawings using AutoCAD, Solidworks
-Design and develop tooling and processes to manufacture parts
-Support production realization process - Prepare and review documentation required to define and control products. Support design reviews, both with customer and internal as required
-Engineering support for meetings/calls with customers either on-site or off-site
-Technical resource to sales staff
-Ensure the successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
-Minimum of 3 years' product design experience
-Working knowledge of practical manufacturing techniques, quality assurance requirements and factors affecting product/program costs.
-Occasional travel requiring valid driver's license, insurance, and acceptable driving record
-Knowledge or experience with electrical systems, PCB design will help with this position.
-Experience with designing and manufacturing circuits, cables, heaters or PCB's-board level design
-Knowledgeable with CAD programs such as AutoCAD, Solidworks and Gerber design software
-Convert Gerber files into a working manufacturing design
-Ability to read, analyze and interpret drawings and customer specifications
Has a BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of industry experience
Minimum 10 lb lifting requirement
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
