Position Description
Assists with the development, implementation and coordination of all genetic counseling, screening, testing, and follow- up for specific patient populations. Supports the development and promotion of the program through education to the lay and medical community. Functions as a resource to other members of the health care team. Consults with physicians and other health care providers and makes recommendations for appropriate services and patient health care management. May also participate in other research activities as directed.
Position Requirements
Required: Master's Degree from accredited Genetic Counseling training program (provisional accreditation acceptable/second year students in good standing may apply) Board certification in Genetic Counseling by the ABMG or ABGC is required within two years of employment. Established leadership, management, and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to be highly motivated and work independently Preferred: One (1) year of experience in genetics, genomics, or related field Board Certification in Genetic Counseling by the ABMG or ABGC Membership in a professional genetic counseling organization Management / supervisory experience; demonstrated leadership skills
