The Financial Services business
The Financial Services (FS) division of Countrywide provides mortgage and protection advice to over 30,000 customers across the Countrywide Estate Agency network through a field based sales team. Further to this the division has successful businesses that are specialists in Telephony, New Build and a Mortgage Network & Club.
The commercial accountant role will play an important role in influencing the FS leadership team. They will support the short and long term forecasting process of the business units, identifying and highlighting risks & opportunities to the Finance Director. They will be involved in the target setting for the sales team and will be a point of contact for regional sales directors to provide support and challenge.
The role will also be expected to provide insightful analysis to look to improve performance of the business and work with sales and operational teams to gain better understanding of the business performance.
Examples of what you will be doing:
Use detailed models to forecast business performance and helping management to understand performance projections and sensitivities.
Work with sales and operational stakeholders to understand performance, providing analysis and challenge to drive results.
Identifying risks and opportunities against the financial plan and providing analysis to identify areas for further opportunity.
Analysing profitability of existing initiatives and modelling potential future projects.
Involvement in the setting of remuneration schemes, providing scenario analysis and aiding in communicating changes to the sales team.
Working closely with members of the finance team to ensure consistent application of the remuneration scheme and helping to resolve queries raised by the sales team.
Building strong relationships and becoming a go-to person for finance queries.
Drive improvements in the forecasting process to gain efficiencies and accuracy.

Interpersonal and communication skills with experience of influencing at all levels.
Ability to communicate financial information effectively, with clear analytical insights, to both finance and non-finance colleagues and keep stakeholders engaged on execution.
Having a strong sense of personal responsibility and high level of business ethics, you will be resilient and have the strength to make difficult decisions and ask challenging questions.
You will be comfortable with dealing with high volumes of data, having an attention for detail whilst also being able to identify trends and summarise at a high level
Other helpful things to know:
This role reports to the Commercial Finance Manager
This role will be based in Milton Keynes, with occasional travel to other locations
You will be a qualified accountant with a preference to commercial analysis and business partnering
Must be computer literate with strong excel skills.
