Purpose of Role

The Sales Team Lead will be focused on developing talent, delivering annual sales targets, strategic planning and customer engagement for assigned accounts. The product portfolio is across the Dry Dog, Dry Cat and Treat segments.

Key responsibilities include: line manager for delivering the P&L budget, developing and executing strategies with internal and customer teams, building relationships, planning and forecasting, managing projects and being an expert in the Private Label Pet Food arena.

This role requires strong interpersonal skills and leans heavily on cross functional team engagement with Marketing, Finance, R&D, Supply Operations, Demand Planning, CPFR/Replenishment and Customer Care.

Insights, Innovation, Continuous Improvement and Collaboration are the foundation in which we operate to deliver the companys and retailer partner objectives.

Principal Accountabilities

Ensure the delivery of overall Sales and scorecard measures for Red Collar Pet Foods for assigned accounts

Accountable for overall account P&L, to ensure profitable business growth

Accountable for talent management as well as talent development of direct reports ensuring resources are aligned in a manner that leverages both Red Collar Pet and assigned customer strategies

Manage the collaborative relationship with customer accounts that delivers customer satisfaction, and fosters an environment to achieve Red Collar Pet business plans and growth objectives

Provide critical customer input into Red Collar Pet around the development of go-to-market (i.e. new item launches, trade deployment, pack creation, etc.) plans and activity sets; Help develop forecast, and provide input on new product concepts, initiatives, and brand plans

Provide sales functional team leadership and provide voice of customer into the creation/execution of overall functional strategies/enablers, key initiatives, etc.

Position must help represent the future and emerging needs of assigned customers, so Red Collar Pet is in a better position to compete within our business segments

Responsible for managing entire Bentonville sales process including insights, innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration with customers as well as managing projects through the activity gate process; The item portfolio is across the Dry Dog, Dry Cat and Treat segments

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge

Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in benchmarking of CPG trends and initiatives

Demonstrated understanding and management of large, complex business customers/channels

In depth knowledge and experience of account management and the ability to penetrate accounts

Basic understanding of agency operations and workings

Strong understanding of the sales process and other functional areas impacting the sales process and the ability to translate these practices into go to market strategies

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of a BA/BS in a business-related field, advanced degree (MBA) or comparable work experience is a plus

Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a consumer products sales and/or marketing organization with at least two of those years in a team leader position

A proven track record of success in complex and varied assignments, with preference for large customer as well as field and inside sales experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate degree preferred.
