The Site Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations that occur within the multiple facilities, ensuring they run efficiently, safely and cost-effectively. The Site Manager will be a key member of the management team and will assist in creating the Final Mile vision and growth strategies, and will execute business and operations plans to achieve performance targets. The Site Manager will also be instrumental in implementing the Wabash Management System in California.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Leads all sites functions and related activitiesPlans, organizes and directs the manufacturing operations to ensure the most effective return on assetsCollaborates with other departments/disciplines to coordinate operations and/or activities to ensure alignment with business unit goals and initiativesMentors, challenges and develops personnel in manufacturing organization with emphasis on change management, cross training employees, safety and driving employee ownership of Company resultsPursues world class status in a lean and continuous improvement manufacturing environmentInitiates plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capitalAssures attainment of business objectives and production schedules while insuring product standards that will exceed our customers' expectationsImplements processes and actions to ensure all facilities support FMP's strategic initiativesEstablishes and holds the team accountable for problem solving and cost reductionEncourages new techniques and focus on fact based problem-solvingUnderstands and spends time up and down the multiple value streamsStrategically adjusts and balances personnel to execute L1 initiativesImplements and maintains Lean Manufacturing principles and standards and leads to 5S initiativesWorks to establish management practices throughout assigned areas which include all employees' positive involvement with opportunity for constructive input and actionContinually improves safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and site culturesMaintains individual skills keeping up to date with latest production and production management conceptsPerforms other job-related duties as assigned Education Requirements: College Degree Major Desired: Business, Engineering or related field, Business or related field Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience: Computer proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and MS OfficeLean manufacturing / Six Sigma5S trainingRead and understand engineering drawings/blueprints and BOMFamiliar with applicable OHSA and EPA standardsHAZWOPER training Skills specific for this position: Proven leadership skillsStrong project and time management skills and organizational abilityExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong collaboration and teamwork skillsStrong analytical skills Experience specific for this position: Leading large groups/teamsManaging by objectiveProven safety recordGoal oriented and results drivenHeavy equipment manufacturing experienceStrong lean experienceValue Stream MappingTime studies and manning capabilitiesScheduling and production flowsCommunication skills Category: Executive , Keywords: General Manager
