This position participates as project designer/manager for smaller commercial interior design projects to County buildings that, working with User groups, include programming, designing, budgeting, ordering, scheduling, installation, and project closeout. This position participates with staff Project Architects and Design Specialists to provide interior design services or assistance for remodel projects to County buildings. This position participates in researching, establishing, and implementing interior design standards for all County buildings.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, university or professional trade school with a major in interior design or architecture and two years of professional level work experience as an Interior Designer, Interior Design Assistant or Architect. OR:Professional certification from the National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ) as an Interior Designer. OR:Six years of professional level work experience as an Interior Designer, Interior Design Assistant or Architect. (Two years of relevant experience may be substituted for candidates with an Associate's degree in interior design.)

Preferred Qualifications: Interior design degree from an accredited university.Experience in interior design, which includes governmental office, legal and law enforcement, judicial, occasional medical, community centers, and libraries.Experience with/knowledge of modular systems furniture design and installation.Experience with/knowledge of researching product standards for commercial facilities based on life cycle, durability, ease of maintenance and design consistency.Experience or working level of competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, Auto-CAD 2017 (or later version), Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam Revu.Experience with/working knowledge of current building codes.Resume required.
Selection Procedure: Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum/desired qualifications. Candidates meeting the minimum/desired qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant's suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Risk Management's review and approval of the candidate's driving record. Failure to maintain the required licensure shall be grounds for termination.
