Phlebotomist III- Float

The Patient Care-Support Services department is seeking a Phlebotomist III to join their full-time float team. Hours and locations will vary.
The Phlebotomist III functions as an integral member of the Support Services team and is responsible for:
Properly obtaining, labeling and transporting specimens and ensures accurate identification of patient specimens to assist in the timely reporting of lab result. Performs a variety of support functions including waived and moderate complexity laboratory testing.
The Phlebotomist III is responsible for and not limited to:
- Venipuncture and specimen collections performed accurately and timely.
- Follow Venipuncture standard of work (SOW) at all times.
- Follow Processing standard of work (SOW) at all times.
- Give patient proper collection instructions and instruct patients in post phlebotomy care.
- Maintain a safe and health work environment by complying with safety regulations. process.
Preferred Experience and Credentials:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a 6-month Phlebotomy Certificate program
- Two years of blood draw experience
- Current Washington State Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist (MA-Pbt) Certification
- Current BLS certification required
- Must be able to frequently stand and walk for long periods of time
