The Neonatal Nutritionist assesses high-risk patients in the NICU and CCN for nutritional needs and develops/implements nutrition care plan in conjunction with health care team. Analyzes patient medical data daily, and recommends type, amount and route of nutrition support. Provides nutrition education counseling to parents/caretakers, assists in formulating the transitional nutrition care plan for discharge, and participates in the Neonatal Follow-up Program. Serves as a resource to staff and community, participates in research, and provides nutrition education and training to hospital staff, students, and community.*ZR
Bachelors degree in Nutrition or Dietetics with three to five years related clinical experience or traineeship/fellowship in neonatal nutrition. Masters Degree preferred. Must be Registered/Licensed Dietitian. Certification as a Nutrition Support Dietitian highly desirable. Fluency in the English language required; ability to speak Spanish very helpful.
