Technical Support Team Leader

I'm working with a highly regarded, award-winning, and commercially affluent business who are currently hiring out of continued growth for a 3rd line Support Team Leader.

My client is looking for a motivated leader with a strong technical support background, who will be responsible for managing a team of high-functioning engineers, assisting them with a wide range of technical issues.

This challenging and progressive role is suited to people with a customer-centric mindset who enjoy complex problem solving and delivering high-level technical solutions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Team management
  • Reducing incident and problem fix times within the third line team
  • Identifying potential future technical issues and presenting these to the Escalations Manager
  • Managing critical IT outages with customers and using the Escalations team to quickly and efficiently resolve the situation.
  • Work with service account managers to improve customer infrastructure
  • managing team stats on a weekly basis presenting SLA, OLA and Incidents/Problems resolved to the Escalations Manager.

Technical Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience providing team leadership to technical support teams, preferably working in MSP or IT Consultancy environment.
  • Support experience across Windows Server, MS Exchange, Citrix, Linux, Dell, and HP Storage, and RDS.
  • Decision making - displays a willingness to make decisions; exhibit sound and accurate judgment and include appropriate people in the decision-making process
  • Good understanding of general server, storage, and networking technologies
  • Knowledge of Virtualization tools - Hyper V and VMware
  • Commercial experience with network and server infrastructure having worked on a variety of IT installations.
  • A passion for learning and interest in new technologies
  • Exceptional communication, documentation and interpersonal skills

Desirable

  • Exceptional communication, documentation and interpersonal skills
  • CCNA/CCNP equivalent qualification would be an advantage
  • Microsoft RDS deployment experience.
  • Project Management experience
