Overview

Provide 24/7 (weekend and holidays) inpatient mid-level coverage for the Cardiology service. Responsibilities

will include assisting with the consult service, CDU and inpatient Cardiologists service. This will include

assisting with consults, admissions and rounding on inpatients. Coverage responsibilities will be for cross

cover of patients RHPN Cardiology patients both inpatient and outpatient overnight, CV- IMU patient

management, and admit/ manage patients in the CDU. The Cardiology Advanced Practitioner functions as a

clinical expert in the Cardiology Program. They work collaboratively with Cardiology and multidisciplinary

health professionals in coordinating and delivering patient care and facilitating communication between the

patient and family, various hospital departments, the Nursing Service and Medical Staff. The Cardiology AP is

involved in performance improvement to ensure quality patient care and best practice.

Job Summary

This is for our 24/7 Inpatient AP Program. The Advanced Practitioner will provide inpatient support to our physicians through consults/assessments and taking call. It is a 24/7 program so shifts cover days/nights and weekends/holidays. The AP will be working three 13 hour shifts weekly, with potential to change in the future. Qualified candidates will need to be able to work nights and weekends regularly. Must be open and flexible with your schedule.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • Master's Degree: Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program (Required)

Certification and Licensure Requirements

  • Any applicable board Certification (Required)
  • BLS CERTIFICATION (Required)
  • CRNP Prescriptive Authority Commonwealth of PA (Required)
  • PA CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE PRACTITIONER LICENSE (Required)
  • PA Registered Nurse License (Required)
  • ACLS CERTIFICATION (Preferred)

Experience and Skills

  • 1-3 Years Independent Practice experience (Required)
  • 1-3 Years Cardiac Nursing (Preferred)
  • Required Skills: Excellent Communications Skills, Excellent Interpersonal Skills, General Clerical Skills, Microsoft Word, Multi Line Telephone Operational Skills, Working knowledge of or the ability to learn an Electronic Medical Record system quickly
