Our brand new state-of-the-art Mother-Baby Unit consists of 29 private rooms designed for family centered recovery.
We believe that childbirth is a family time and that everyone benefits from family-centered experience. Family-centered care means that we welcome your family as an important part of your care team. We practice couplet care, which means your baby stays with you in your room at all times, even when examinations are performed. The same nurse will care for both you and your baby, optimizing communication, and we offer specialized care for babies who need closer observation.

15 dedicated labor, deliver and recovery rooms
Three obstetrical operating rooms
Level Ill NICU
Level II progressive care nursery (PCN)
High risk antepartum unit
Prenatal and birthing services
Remote fetal surveillance
Gynecologic oncology specialists
POSITIONS SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Mother Baby RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The tasks and responsibilities include:
Assesses, plans and evaluates patient care needs.
Carries out physician orders.
Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, monitors vital signs.
Provides post-anesthesia recovery care for the patient.
Assesses and fosters patient-infant bonding.
Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia Compact license accepted
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required)
ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification (preferred)
Mother/Baby concept is preferred
New graduates are welcomed
Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and BLS is required
Graduate from an accredited College or University, (BSN preferred)
Current Virginia RN License-Compact license accepted
