GEM (Gaming & Entertainment Management - Illinois LLC), based in Naperville outside of Chicago, is the third largest video gaming terminal (VGT) route operator in Illinois. GEM operates nearly 1,800 VGTs at 438 sites - strategic, high-traffic locations such as bars, restaurants, convenience stores, truck stops, bowling alleys and fraternal organizations. "GEM, which operates the equivalent of a large gaming venue but spread over the entire state, complements our traditional casino portfolio and positions us for growth in this emerging sector," said Brian Hansberry, president of Delaware North's gaming business.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Sr. Business Development Manager, this position focuses on developing new business throughout the Chicago suburbs. Partnering with local businesses, this position works closely with both gaming establishments as well as assisting with state licensing and government gaming agencies. This position would cater to both southeast and southwest territories.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and seeks new business relationships with key individuals.
  • Develops open communications with location owners and representatives
  • Communicates and assists locations with GEM services; presents new products and services
  • Works with GEM team and location to ensure proper functionality of gaming machines and redemption terminals
  • Works as a liaison for GEM with location owners
  • Network to acquire potential new clients
  • Research and build relationships with new clients
  • Identify potential new clients and decision makers within the client organization
  • Assist with marketing and promotions
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Non-essential Functions:

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • College degree preferred; or additional equivalent education and/or experience combined
  • Outside sales experience in a business to business environment preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Networking, persuasion, public speaking and prospecting skills in a professional manner
  • Motivational sales skills
  • Identification of customer needs and challenges
  • Proficient skills with computer software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Research skills required
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Outside sales: 1 year (preferred)
  • Sales: 1 year (required)
  • Customer Service: 2 years (required)
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) required

Physical Requirements:

  • This position may require frequent travel
  • Candidates must have and maintain a valid driver's license
