Account Manager - Commercial Insurance

Avalon Risk Management is a national insurance broker that focuses on products and services designed for the international trade, transportation and logistics industry. We are looking for an upbeat, highly motivated self-starter to work in our Elk Grove Village, Illinois office. This is a Full time exempt position.
As an Account Manager, the candidate will be the primary contact for our existing clients for all Avalon lines of business. The Account Manager will provide assistance with marketing submissions, preparing proposals, answering policy questions, processing endorsements, updating account changes, billing, managing the renewal process and more. The Account Manager will be key to maintaining client and policy information in our Applied EPIC system and other Avalon systems. Candidates may provide support to our sales staff and perform client training as part of that support and may also have the opportunity to cross-sell and further develop the client relationship. This role will expose you to our clients, the importing/exporting industry, and the various international and domestic insurance programs we manage.
We are looking for candidates preferably with a college degree and 3-5 years of experience in the Commercial Lines insurance industry. Candidate should have a valid IL Property & Casualty License, and we prefer someone with 2 or more years of experience working with Applied EPIC preferably in the Commercial Lines insurance industry (not medical insurance). All candidates must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position will require a strong work ethic, close attention to detail, and the ability to think creatively when a process is not available. To succeed in this position, you must possess strong organizational skills, care about the details, have the ability to work with a team and independently, and have excellent computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and be Internet savvy). We need someone who is interested in building relationships and truly enjoys interacting with people!
