WHAT YOU'LL DO The Underwriting Technician works closely with the Underwriting unit supporting their daily operations. In addition, you ll:
Enter data in order to issue policies
Receive and respond to telephone calls
Maintain data systems, prepare reports, spreadsheets and files
Participate in underwriting training sessions
Calculate loss ratios, process mail, verify drivers, order audits and process policy changes
Correspond with customers, sales producers, service offices, and bureaus to verify applicant information
Perform other administrative and clerical job-related duties requiring the same general degree of responsibility
Desire to advance in the Underwriting field
WHAT IT TAKES Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
0-2 years of previous experience and/or coursework
Comparable commercial lines experience preferred
PC skills in programs such as Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Access.
Familiarity with reinsurance terminology and processes beneficial
Excellent communication skills
