Project Engineer - Highways

Our client, a leading provider of highways term maintenance services nationwide, is currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to join their Buckinghamshire based team on a long-term contract basis.
What you will be doing:
You will be responsible together with the Project Manager, primarily for delivery of an annual programme of capital works. This work will include major schemes, safety improvements, Intelligent Traffic Systems, traffic calming, footways, cycleways, pedestrian crossings, drainage, safety barriers, highway signs, road markings, road studs and Traffic Regulation Orders.
You will be required to develop, plan, design and manage the delivery of maintenance/improvement projects to meet organisational and customer/stakeholder requirements, working in conjunction with other staff within their team.
You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are developed and delivered on time, at the required quality and to budget, together with delivery of the communication and consultation requirements of the scheme.
Be a role model in relation to our health, safety, environment and quality culture.
What you will need to succeed:
HNC educated or equivalent experience.
Experienced project engineer with a good understanding of design and construction.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Excellent planning and organisational skills, to manage a range of complex activities and to achieve given targets and objectives.
Excellent time management skills to manage a complex workload prioritise and set deadlines and cope with changing demands.
Expert knowledge and understanding of the systems, policies, procedures, professional guidelines, legislation, best practice and emerging developments within the scope of the service area.
Budget and contract management experience.
Full driving licence.

Working in a great team in a fantastic location, this is a full-time contract job. The rate on offer is £30 - £32 per hour LTD.
