Primary Purpose:

The District Commercial Manager is accountable for sales interface decision-making between suppliers, operations and customer service. Supports sales management allowing that position to execute on the sales growth strategy, training and coaching of sales professionals. Also accountable for driving profitability improvement through price and cost management as well as management of customer capital investments.

· Broad knowledge of chemical distribution - sales, marketing, financial, procurement, etc…

Responsibilities:

Key leadership role within the District along with Sales Managers and the General Manager to drive sales growth, manage supplier relationship, and improve P&L profitability.

Reviews new business opportunities that need interface between commercial, operations, and regulatory.

Primary interface between sales and MPU to drive execution of new product / supplier purchases.

Supervisor for District Commercial Specialist (DCS) role whose job functions include price support administration, inventory management, new product setup, sales support, and other critical business processes.

Cost management and CUPS negotiation.

Price approver for select products and supplier for the Distric

Education/Training:

· Bachelor's degree

· Broad knowledge of chemical distribution - sales, marketing, financial, procurement, etc…

· Field experience a key success factor

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

· Strong leadership skills with the ability to think and act strategically

· Ability to make decisions that balance customer needs and company objectives

· Pricing and profitability analytical skills

· Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal

· Understanding of Univar Solutions service offerings

· Strong PC skills including Excel, Outlook, CRM, UVX, Information Warehouse, SAP, Business Warehouse, etc….
