Where you'll work

The Portland Maine site specializes in the manufacture of coffee extracts and has high visibility to large and important customers. Join this team as a Quality Manager at this ~ 50 employee manufacturing facility.

What you'll do

Do you love the hustle and bustle?

The Portland, Maine manufacturing facility is hopping and it is fast paced! We service many very critical customers out of this manufacturing facility and we want to keep them happy and show them our support.

Overall, you will be the rock star of Quality Assurance and responsible for all quality functions including food safety, sanitation efficiencies, customer service, and overall performance of the quality department. Provide leadership and direction in quality and food safety areas for all plant operations to achieve continuously improving results in the areas of quality, cost, service and safety. Can you communicate on the fly and make quick decisions?

At Kerry, you'll work in a fast-paced environment as the subject matter expert developing strategies in food safety, sanitation, customer service, and overall performance in quality.

You'll investigate and solve complex issues, make decisions quickly with little information, and train and mentor your team of 5. The work can be challenging at times, executing against the demands of this fast-paced high growth plant.

We need your confidence and expertise to develop the correct strategies, SPC programs and communicate effectively with customers. Demonstrate competencies in process capabilities and process performance to support our customers.

QA Manager requires working along cross-functional teams, leading and developing teams through communication, training and accountability.

Qualifications and skills

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an applicable field of study such as Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or similar Science/Engineering
  • 3+ years of quality experience in a food/beverage manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of relevant GFSI standards experience such as SQF, BRC, IFS or FS 22000.
  • 3+ years of experience in Food Safety regulations, FSMA, and industry and market trends.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills and we prefer experience with LIMS, MAPIX, SAP
