An NHS organisation in the North West are looking for an experienced Infrastructure IT Systems Specialist join the team on a contract basis, for approximately 3 months.

Must be an experienced Server Engineer, MSCE certified with in-depth understanding of virtualisation technologies such as VMWare, Hyper V, SQL Server and Citrix as well as an in-depth understanding of Microsoft systems and their application within a Healthcare setting.

Further duties can be seen below:
  1. Operational management including system design, configuration and technical support for a wide range of IT Infrastructure systems.
  2. General day to day system support, response to user problems and enquiries, the set up and installation of software and hardware, implementing software and hardware upgrades, ensuring system reliability and undertaking all systems management and administration.
  3. To include liaising with 3rd party support suppliers and keeping maintenance documentation up to date.
  4. To respond to the ever-changing Infrastructure environment to ensure the systems in use by the Trust are fit for purpose. This includes supporting existing systems:
    • Management of existing systems and ensuring patches, upgrades and security modifications are completed where necessary
    • Manage all allocated work items
    • Understanding and ensuring compliance with user/National requirements
    • End to End Communication including status reporting, risk and issue management.
And implementing new systems where required:
  • Manage all allocated workload items
  • Design new systems and solutions to fit identified requirements
  • Analyse, justify, purchase and install/maintain new hardware/software solutions
  • End to End user testing & Agreement
  • Implementation of new solutions and deliver training to ICT Operational support team where required
  • Document changes and update training materials.

Pro-actively design, develop and maintain a range of reports and respond to ad-hoc information requests for information from and for the many Infrastructure systems.
