Environmental Consultant
Philip Farrelly & Co are currently recruiting an Environmental Consultant to support the delivery of several long-term exciting projects across the country. The position will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work on a number of high-profile projects and meaningfully contribute to habitat restoration, including the EU funded WaterLANDS project which aims to restore wetlands across Europe, the NPWS Farm Plan Scheme which seeks to promote HNV farming and a variety of other habitat restoration, research and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Field data collection and processing. - Assist in the preparation of restoration plans and the coordination and monitoring of a programme of restoration. - Providing expertise and assistance/advice to the consultancy team as required. - Liaising with clients and other project stakeholders as required. - Writing technical reports and feeding into project progress meetings. - Co-ordinating project teams where required. - Undertaking other environmental consultancy tasks that may be assigned.
The Candidate
We'd love to hear from you if you:
- Have a level 8 degree in Ecology, Botany, Environmental Science, Agricultural Science or similar. - Have 3 to 5 years' post graduate experience. - Are experienced working both independently and as part of a team in remote locations. - Strong project management skills, client liaison and programme delivery. - Have excellent attention to detail. - Have experience using GIS and other software. - Experience relative to peatlands is highly desirable. - Have a strong understanding of relevant environmental and agricultural policy and legislation. - Working towards chartership of relevant professional body.

This role will require a mix of field and office-based duties from home, occasional travel to our head office or client offices maybe required. The role would suit an individual in Leitrim, Cavan, Sligo or the surrounding area.
