IT Support Engineer - up to £24,000 + additional benefits, free parking and private healthcare

Mploy have partnered with an IT Support Services company based in Poole, who are looking for an IT Support Engineer to join them, in their existing team of 12 members of staff. They always promote internally and as such this role is to replace someone who has been promoted to management level.

The customer base is primarily SME sized (2 to 150 users), mostly within the Poole/Bournemouth and surrounding areas within a 20-30 miles radius. The company's clients are across a wide range of industries, with differing requirements and setups.

You should be self-motivated and experienced support engineer with cabling experience, who is keen to learn and advance your technical knowledge. You'll need to be comfortable communicating with people at all levels, as you'll be customer facing and a representative of the company.

What will your day look like?

Providing primarily 1st and 2nd line support and services to a wide range of clients, partaking in a busy helpdesk environment.

Take ownership of problems through to resolution, or escalate when necessary

Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, wireless and broadband problems - diagnosing and solving. Both remotely and on customer sites.

Carry out small network cabling installations (CAT5e/CAT6) and repairs to a high standard.

Installation and configuration of router/firewall devices and wireless networks, including basic VLAN knowledge.

Administration and troubleshooting of customer cloud-based services - including Microsoft Office 365 services

Administration and troubleshooting of customer on-premise servers - including Active Directory, Hyper-V, SQL Server and backups

Liaising with third party hardware and software vendors for support when required

Rapidly establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals

Test and evaluate new technologyPlease note a full UK Driving License is essential for this role, as you will be visiting client sites on a regular basis. A shared company van is provided for the majority of journeys, but you will also be expected to use your own vehicle at times (you will be reimbursed for any fuel costs monthly)

Essential experience required:

1 year minimum IT support experience dealing with multiple clients and/or sites

CAT5e/CAT6 cabling experience including the safe and competent use of power tools

Good understanding and experience of Microsoft Office 365, Windows Server, Windows 7/10, IP Networking and Firewalls
