Fire Alarm Installation and Small works Engineer - £28,000 to £35,000 DOE – Manchester/Leeds/Oldham (50mi radius)

The Role

Due to expansion, Cook Fire and Security are looking for a small works Engineer to work as part of a team installing Fire Alarm systems you should have a good working knowledge of Fire Alarms and Emergency Lighting. Understand drawings and have a sound Electrical Knowledge and qualifications, you will be given full training in order to carry out the role to the best of your ability. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a fresh challenge with a rapidly growing and dynamic company.

The key responsibilities of a Fire and Security Installation Engineer include, but are not limited to:

Installation of Fire Alarms

Carrying Out planned service repairs

Managing stocks of supplies and equipment

Any other duties as required from you

Full in-house will be offered for the right candidate.

We are 3rd party accredited for Fire Alarm & Security Systems to BAFE SP203 and NACOSS to Gold Standards.

The Person

These are the minimum requirements of a Fire and Security Installation Engineer:

At least four years’ relevant experience with an in-depth knowledge of security and/or fire systems (commissioning and client handover knowledge would be advantageous)

Working knowledge of all relevant British and European standards (PD6662:2010, BS8243, BS5839 etc.)

Able to apply fault finding and other skills to a broad range of products; and commission majority fire alarm systems (someone who is Gent trained would be an advantage, but training will be given)

IPAF Certified; and holds an ECS Card (desirable; training may be offered to right candidate)

Full UK drivers’ licence

Electrical qualifications for safe Isolation and experience of repairs/testing
