The Role of Sales/Project Engineer
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a prototype & development manufacturing company as a Sales/project Engineer where you will be directly responsible for identifying new customers & generating sales. This is a new position were the successful applicant can develop & implement their sales strategies to customers from a wide range of industries. Working alongside a small but skilled team of engineers & manufacturing personal creating & tailoring bespoke engineering assemblies & components.
Key Responsibilities of Sales Project Engineer:
Identify new business opportunities by contacting potential customers, developing mutually beneficial relationships, discovering new opportunities
Work with the manufacturing team to develop and quote opportunities that meet the customer needs in a quick timeframe.
Achieve sales targets by actively creating new leads, expanding existing customer relationships and closing business.
Proactively develop and manage a growing sales pipeline, working closely with management to ensure the opportunity levels are sufficient to meet sales goals.
Target projects with the potential to develop into batch work & long-term production.
Quickly respond to inquiries and leads, documenting progress through all stages of the sales cycle.
Develop and deliver bespoke presentations and proposals based on customer specification / requirements.
Travel to customer sites as is reasonably required to achieve the targets set for the role, meeting with prospects and participation in industry events.
Central point of contact for the customer maintaining an open line of communication allowing customers an opportunity to inform you of any issues that may influence satisfaction.
Investigate concerns, develop solutions and make recommendations to management on how to best exceed customer expectations.
Required Skills and Experience of Sales/Project Engineer:
Degree in an applicable Technical/Engineering discipline or demonstrated experience / professional equivalent.
Five or more years' experience in an engineering capacity.
An understanding of fabrication & manufacturing techniques would be advantageous along with previous experience in the automotive/commercial vehicle sector.
Identify industry trends by researching sector publications and discussing potential needs with customers.
Feedback findings to operations management and recommend potential new products and services.
Established network of industry contacts.
Customer focused with strong networking skills.
Willing and able to work extended hours as required to complete proposals and close deals.
Comfortable working in a Microsoft environment utilizing outlook email and other necessary corporate business programs. High level of competency with Microsoft Power Point, Word and Excel.
Driving License. Excellent presentation skills.
Salary of £30,000-£40,000 per year (dependent on experience)
Possibility of working from home
