My client is a well regarded firm of Accountants, ideally situated within Leicestershire and easily accessible from across the Midlands.

Due to continued expansion they now have a vacancy for an experienced Practice Trained Accountant to join the team, to provide essential support to the Audit and Accounts Department.

Regular responsibilities of this role may include, but are not limited to:

• Plan, analyse and prepare working schedules and financial statements on behalf of clients and from client records. This will include sole traders, partnerships and limited company accounts

• Prepare business tax computations from accounting records on appropriate software for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies

• Undertake and assist in audits, specialist assignments which may include solicitors, insurance brokers, letting agents, charities and pension schemes, and assist in maintaining quality control standards, as and when required

• Prepare management information and complex VAT returns accurately and timely for an agreed number of clients

• Act as second contact to an allocated portfolio of clients, ensuring assignments are scheduled and undertaken in a timely manner, to assist the clients to meet their statutory obligations

• Liaise with clients and colleagues to assist, advise and gain information for the successful completion of the accounts

• Participate in client meetings as requested by the client contact

• Mentor, support and help to develop more junior members of the department to engender an environment of continuous improvement and achievement

• Supervise other members of the department to assist them in the preparation of working papers and client accounts to the highest standards

• Participate and contribute to the development of the team in order to assist it to meet its objectives, in line with the overall Company strategy

Required skills:

- Professional qualification ACA, ACCA, AAT or equivalent QBE

- Previous experience of working in practice

- Be computer literate (particularly Microsoft Office), and be able to adapt to using new software quickly and easily (Sage, IRIS, Xero, etc.)

- Have excellent attention to detail and thrive on exceeding client expectations

- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Be able to travel to clients within Leicestershire
