The best company in the Huntingdon area, in my opinion, has just approached me with the best opportunity I ve seen in a long time! They re offering a fantastic package, excellent training opportunities and development as well as an opportunity to work closely with a highly experienced and successful Engineering Manager!
The long standing company in the Huntingdon area who are looking for a Lead Hand Engineer to join their team as they grow and develop the engineering team. The company has recently appointed an incredibly successful and experienced Engineering Manager who knows the value of looking after his team in order to achieve the best results. In his short time at the company he s already implemented new projects and changes leading to major savings across the company and now he needs someone to lead the engineering team underneath him.
As the lead engineer you will still be 95% hands on carrying out the daily tasks, whether it s pre planned maintenance or reacting to breakdowns, but you ll also be the person everyone turns to if they have any engineering based questions both mechanical and electrical.
As the company begins to make key changes to their process, there will be opportunities to work on more small projects within the business and take on more responsibilities as time progresses. Some of your day to day responsibilities will include:
- To maintain the machinery on site, ensuring PPM measures are met
- Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner to keep downtime to a minimum
- Adhere to the Health and safety measures, when completing daily tasks
- Run projects and manage contractors.
-Be the engineer s point of contact for any and all questions surrounding engineering requirements on site
The Lead Hand Engineer is expected to be more than happy being hands on and working with the other engineers, but also to be comfortable sitting in a managers meeting and stepping up in the engineering managers absence to make sure everything is running as it should be. In order to work to the high standards set by the company, you are expected to have gained the following skills and experiences:
- Mechanical and/or Electrical qualifications and experience
- Previous experience in FMCG or Manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership ability, ideally with a track record in a similar position
-Fantastic work ethic and attitude towards learning and taking on new skills
Ideally, the company is looking for someone who has come from a Food Manufacturing Environment, however this is not essential. Strong working electrical and mechanical knowledge is essential as you will be the go to person for any and all engineering issues in the absence of the engineering manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing and developing company and help to make a difference as the go through this period. These opportunities don t come around often, so if you think you have what it takes then apply now
