Product Design Engineer

My Client is one of the UK's brand of choice for secure storage and logistical products.
They are currently recruiting for a Product Design Engineer to join their design team to carry out R&D projects on time and in budget but also be innovative and effective with materials, whilst still ensuring they aren't compromising a great design.
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
Hours: 07:30 - 16:30 (30 minute lunch)
Benefits: 28 Days Holiday
As a Product Design Engineer you will:
Follow projects through the design process, from initial ideas stage through to final product for launch
Lead the start of the design from the Product Design Specification to produce CAD models which can be used to create prototypes and sample units
Investigate and test novel materials & technologies, as dictated by project requirements
Take a 'hands on' approach when working with materials to ensure quality specifications are met.
Liaise with internal departments during initial design and development phase ensuring customer requirements are met.
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure manufacturing processes are optimised for new designed products as well as ever-improving existing ranges
Continuous involvement in existing Product Development to address quality & performance
Communicate project status to stakeholders and senior management
Assist in creation of product literature (e.g. working instructions)
As a Product Design Engineer you must:
Be CAD proficient, Solidworks, preferable but not essential
Be experienced working with Product Design, essential
Have any experience with electronics, would be highly considered
