A global energy company with operations throughout the work are seeking a Project Accountant - to join their Finance team in Uxbridge.

Reporting to the Manager of Project Accounting, your primary responsibility will be to provide Financial Support to the Global Exploration (GE) teams within a financially controlled environment and to provide monthly consolidated KPI information to the VP GE, Exploration & Appraisal and Europe.

The role is responsible for hosting and presenting monthly KPI meetings, providing consolidated results to the VP GE, Exploration and Appraisal, Europe, and you will play a critical role in providing key customers with value adding financial information that is timely, accurate and meets the needs of aiding decision making.

Responsibilities

Preparing the budgets for the licences/acreage/areas of interest managed by the GE UK, Ireland and New Ventures Europe and Africa Teams, ensuring that these budgets are aligned with the corporate budgets.

Maintaining the accounting records with respect to GE UK, Ireland and New Ventures Europe and Africa Teams licences/acreage/areas of interest, ensuring they are aligned with UK, CA and local GAAP guidelines, and within the framework of the UK or applicable SOAPs.

Liaise with the other teams within Operations Accounting to ensure accounting entries are accurately reflected in the ledger, & on partner billings.Who are we looking for?

Qualified (ACA, ACMA, ACCA)

Degree level or equivalent,

Demonstrable track record of performing a critical review of financial information ideally within an oil and gas operator background. We are particularly interested in you if you have the following skills and knowledge:

Good understanding of SAP functions (Joint Venture module in particular) and Oil industry experience.

SAP Project Systems (PS) Module.

Experience of BI (Business Intelligence) would also be an advantage.

Joint Operating Agreement awareness and knowledge

Knowledge and experience of Production Sharing Contracts would also be an advantage

Ability to analyse, investigate, problem-solve and report accurately against tight deadlines.

A highly disciplined and organised individual who understands the importance of structure, process and record-keeping.

Strong organisational skills

Excellent communication skills that can work across multiple functions at all levels

A motivated self-starter, with strong interpersonal skills who is comfortable taking the lead on initiatives and seeing them through to resolution.
