Description:

We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual who can use their skills to help the Dstl Internal Portfolio achieve the benefits it is setting out to realise. You will contribute to a change in culture, behaviours and working practices within Dstl, working closely with the different programme and sub-portfolio areas within the Internal Portfolio, along with the Portfolio Management and Coordination Office (PMCO). In addition you will play a key role in development of the portfolio's P3 maturity in benefits development and reporting and in lead on development of reporting for the portfolio.

Contribute to the definition of metrics that allow us to measure the success of the programmes and sub-portfolios.

Help create and manage the benefits realisation plan and align programme delivery with its targets and Dstl strategic intent.

Collect emergent benefits so they are managed and dis-benefits minimised.

Liaise with key partners to communicate the key messages set out in the Internal Portfolio’s Benefits Management Strategy and Plan.

Work collaboratively with the PMCO to ensure the accrual and management of benefits during and beyond programme and project completion.

Facilitating and/or contribute to benefits mapping workshops, applying experience to provide challenge and ensure assumptions are robust and align Business Strategy.

Supporting the Programme Managers/Portfolio Managers to complete their Benefits Profiles, ensuring that it is realistic and that any risks, assumptions and dependencies around realisation are included.

Supporting the Programme Managers/Portfolio Managers to ensure that benefits are understood across the Portfolio and calculations and methodology are consistent.

Supporting the Programme Managers/Portfolio Managers in developing and maintaining a benefits realisation plan.

Supporting the Programme Managers/Portfolio Managers in preparing and updating benefits elements of the business case.

Lead on development of benefits reporting.

Essential

Proven track record of benefits management in a transformational change environment.

Degree level qualifications

Practitioner level or equivalent experience in Portfolio, Programme and Project Management

If less than 24 months experience then a qualification such as the APMG Managing Benefits Practitioner or Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) is essential.

Excellent communications skills, including facilitation skills

Financial awareness

Use of analytical software (e.g. Microsoft Excel)

Able to develop networks. If less than 24 months experience then a qualification such as the APMG Managing Benefits Practitioner is essential.

Desirable

Management of Value qualification

Management of Successful Programmes qualification

Management of Portfolios qualification

Degree level Qualification

Essential

Depending on experience qualification such as APMG Managing Benefits Practitioner or Managing Successful Programmes (MSP).
