Trainee Business Consultant (Graduate Role)
Posted on Aug 1, 2019 by CV-Library
At Protronics Ltd we offer a range of services centred around Sage accounting software; we help our clients to get the most out of their IT systems, but also to work in the most efficient and productive way through training, support and well-designed processes.
We generally offer services to companies in close proximity to our offices, but our clients have a habit of taking us with them when they move, so we now have clients across the UK. They typically range in size from 5 and 500 people and come from a variety of business sectors, bringing a broad and interesting range of requirements for us to fulfil.
Although small, we are highly skilled and well established, having traded for over 20 years - with most of us working here for over 10 of them. We’re now embarking on a period of steady growth, beginning with this key appointment to our London office.
About the Role
Our consultants require a broad range of skills and experiences to draw on in order to meet our clients’ needs, and this trainee role gives an excellent opportunity to develop these.
Initially you’ll get hands on with accounts, become skilled with Sage accounts software, and learn Excel, SQL Server and other reporting tools. Alongside this you’ll learn what makes processes work or fail.
Client work will start with email and telephone technical support, together with office-based project work. In due course you’ll take on site visits and more demanding project work, ultimately becoming responsible for projects from initial client meeting through to delivery.
This is a full time position based in Woolwich, South East London.
What We’re Looking For
We’re interested in people who are analytical, good at problem solving, with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and who want to help businesses change and grow through improved decision making and processes.
The role is suited to a bright graduate from a top 20 UK (preferably Russell Group or equivalent overseas) university, and we do require a 2:2 as a minimum.
Although our services centre around accounting software, we are not particularly looking for someone following the accountancy qualification route - unless you find conventional accounts work just a little... dull.
Relevant IT, accounts, or even general administrative experience would be beneficial, but our priority is finding the right individual to join our team; therefore we’re even more interested in the aptitude and attributes of candidates than your existing skill set.
It’s key to this profession that you be equally comfortable working with technology, data and people, and so requires a fine balance of attributes to bring to the role: You must be enthusiastic yet focused. Confident but careful. Able to work alone or to contribute as part of a team. Resourceful and creative, yet still process-oriented and methodical. Thorough, yet efficient. Ultimately, a special blend of inner geek and great inter-personal skills!
What We Offer
Aside from a competitive salary, we’re committed to training and support for the successful candidate to ensure they gain the requisite skills and experience required to grow within this role.
Joining our small company (currently a team of 6 consultants in multiple locations) provides a varied role in which your contribution is evident and valued from the start, and where working in direct contact with more experienced/senior staff will aid your development.
How Do I Apply?
