Maintenance Team Leader - Rail (Great Benefits)

Job title: Team Leader - Rail (Power pack maintenance).

Job location: London.

Shifts: 4 days on, 4 days off

Hours per week: 48 (12 hour shifts). 4 on 4 off.

Duration: Permanent position.

Hours: 06:00-18:00, or 07:00-19:00.

Start date: Interview Immediately.

Job Summary:

This role is to support the Senior Supervisor by leading a shift within a depot by acting as the main focal point for all preventive and corrective activities within a shift and any other matters that may arise during the shift.

Job overview:

*Perform preventative and corrective scheduled maintenance activities in accordance with the customer's maintenance schedule.

*Actively participate in the ongoing continuous improvement activities for both maintenance and procedures.

*Attend and participate in meetings with the customer where necessary to obtain sign off for work that has been carried out on the customer's equipment.

*Undertake fault finding and repair when required using appropriate technical information (e.g. Technical drawings and fault finding guides)

*Completion of relevant documentation for all work carried out in order to accurately record activities that are recorded for the company and the customer.

*Proactive involvement in the Company's HSQE management processes.

*Attend local and factory training courses when necessary to ensure skills remain current.

*To participate in 24/7 shift working including callout when required.

*Assist the senior supervisor in the control and motivation of the team in order to maximise the available hours and to assist when required with technical and product support issues. E.G, resourcing

*Assist the senior supervisor with ensuring that preventative and corrective maintenance tasks are completed within the agreed deadline.

*Assist the senior supervisor when necessary with the ordering of parts and completion of documentation.

*Assist the senior supervisor in ensuring all team members are complying with the Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.

*Assist the senior supervisor in the development of risk assessments, safe systems of work and best practice for workshop processes and tasks.

*To be responsible for ensuring that depot's are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness.

*Providing technical support to team members as and when required.

*Conduct quality inspections as necessary.

*Ensure that all special tools and equipment are kept in good order and that repair requirements are notified to the workshop supervisor.

*Accurately report parts used during service work as per internal processes to ensure our stock is effectively controlled and accounted for.

*To assist the senior supervisor in maintaining and updating the HSQE 'site packs' for the depots under their responsibility.

Person Profile/Experience:

*Experience working in a heavy vehicle maintenance role.

*Ideally dual skilled but mechanical and electrical experience will be considered.

*Experience working in a team leading / managerial role. Although hands on this position will also require running a shift and some people management.
