About the Company:

Based just outside of Bedford, our client is the leading supplier of innovative research and product-based solutions in the field of unmanned systems, mission systems, avionics, sensor payloads and data exploitation.

Job Description:

You will be required to support a mixture of R&D and product development activities within a leading autonomy and unmanned systems company.

You will be keen to get involved in all development areas, and have a proven track record in both problem solving and quality software development.

Working as part of a team in a multidisciplinary environment you will have good communication skills. A can-do attitude and a genuine passion for innovative technology will be advantageous.

You will work with the software team to develop a next generation service orientated architecture (SOA) implementation of the UAV mission system. Your role will be as a technical lead coordinating the mission system design requirements, implementation of the agreed improvements and test of the resulting system both in simulation and live on UAV platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Primarily, your role will be to assist in the design, implementation and test of real time embedded board software to support both experimental activities and product development.

- The opportunity will enable the successful candidate to gain knowledge of how to design, implement and test cutting edge autonomous systems, including how to ensure real-time safety, security and redundancy considerations are met.

- You will be responsible for delivery, reporting and presentation of technical work and writing and submitting any necessary documentation.

- Work as a team to deliver, maintain and innovate the UAV mission system architecture and individual modules within the mission system.
