TECHNICAL SALES ENGINEER / BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

UK sensors manufacturer predominantly used for instrumentation & monitoring within the Geotechnical, Civil, Mining and Structural Health Monitoring industries and are sold worldwide through a series of distributors, strategic partners and end users.

Typical applications for our sensors include slope stability, dams, tunnels, deep foundations, retaining walls, rock anchors, roads and bridges.

As a sales engineer, you'll combine your technical knowledge with sales skills to serve customers by identifying their needs, engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

·Consultative sales role to customers in the UK & overseas

·Generating sales leads

·Identifying and establishing new business opportunities

·Building strong relationships with customers

* To increase sales and ‘conversions’ to increase our overall turnover

To support the successful candidate, a comprehensive in-house training programme will be undertaken to provide all the tools and knowledge required to succeed in this particular role.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

·Responding to in-bound sales enquiries

·Interpreting customer project requirements

·Preparing tenders, proposals and quotations

·Aid with product selection for Sales Administrators to prepare quotations

·Organising sales visits

·Liaising with existing clients

·Providing pre-sales and post-sales support

·Ensuring that sales targets are met

·Collaborate with other departments to deal with customer requirements

·Attend technical meetings with customers & Consultants

·Product demonstration & presentations to customers

·Attending trade exhibitions, conferences and meetings

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Essential

·Graduate in Civil / Geotechnical / Construction or related background

·Background in selling technical products

·Strong communication skills (verbal & written)

·Ability to develop good relationships with customers

·Commercial awareness

·Be customer centric

·Passionate about service delivery

·Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Desirable

·Experience of working within a construction environment

·Structural survey or instrumentation experience

·Ticket-tracking software experience

·Good knowledge of quality systems including ISO9001
