Monday – Thursday 08:30 – 17:15, Friday 08:30 – 13:00.
The duties will consist of but not be limited to the following:
·Design and development of Coriolis mass flowmeters manufactured by our Client.
·Implementing new designs into production and the project management thereof.
·Conduct stress calculations to validate the structural integrity of components and assemblies using a formula based approached for simple calculations and an FEA simulation approach for more complex calculations using ANSYS Workbench.
·Assess and implement design change requests related to the full range of their flowmeters.
·Preparation, maintenance and revision control of 3D CAD models, drawings and BOM’s using Solidworks CAD and PLM software.
·Work closely with and support other departments (Production, Production Engineering, Purchasing, Quality) and suppliers to improve existing designs with respect to manufacturability and assembly.
·Provide assistance to other departments and suppliers to help solve technical problems during manufacture and assembly.
·Oversee validation testing required during the design change process and summarise results in a technical report.
·Testing of mass flow meters, both internally and externally to them.
·Wide ranging support to the R&D department in the research, testing and development of flow instrumentation.
·Performance of other tasks as detailed by the Development Manager - Mechanical and/or the Technical Director.
·Minimum of a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related subject from an accredited University or substantial experience in lieu.
·A minimum of 5 years practical experience in 3D CAD is essential, preferably using SolidWorks.
·Familiarity with other design and simulation software such as AutoCAD and ANSYS would be an advantage.
·Familiar with the principles of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
·Design of industrial instruments and/or process plant equipment.
·Experience of pressure equipment design is desirable.
·Knowledge of special materials such as austenitic and Duplex stainless steels, hastelloy, titanium, tantalum etc. would be an advantage.
·Knowledge of permanent joining methods such as welding, brazing, adhesive bonding etc.
·Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as casting, injection moulding, machining, fabrication, forming etc.
·An interest in and understanding of physics/general science and mechanics as applicable to transducer operation is desirable.
·High degree of self-motivation and initiative
·Ability to work in a highly organized and logical manner under minimum supervision within a small team of multi-disciplined engineers (Mechanical, Electronic and Software Engineers).
