AV Technician

£40k - £45k

London (5 days per week)

Customer facing AV Technician who will work on Cisco Video Conferencing devices in all meeting rooms that run Webex meetings and Microsoft teams meetings.

About the job

The AV Technician will provide onsite support to staff and clients in the use of collaboration, videoconferencing and presentation equipment. The hours should be between 8am and 6pm (40 hour working week) dependent on timing of meetings, the AV engineer either starts earlier or finishes later.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Daily support of Webex, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, CVP, and other videoconferencing platforms
  • AV Infrastructure Knowledge - Experience with Cisco/Polycom VC systems, Crestron/AMX/Extron control systems, Cisco TMS/Webex Control Hub, Sennheiser/Shure wireless microphones, VC platforms (Microsoft Teams/Zoom/Webex/Google Meet/CVP, etc.), SIP/H.323 dialling, webRTC/CVI, webcams, speakerphones, digital signage/IPTV systems (Tripleplay/Appspace/Exterity, etc.), AV cabling and connection methods
  • Run AV events, including pre-event testing of audio, wireless microphone battery levels etc.
  • Advise on best practice in regard to AV technology
  • Carry out regular preventative room checks, ensuring all equipment functions correctly in accordance with the room check procedure and to ensure all AV equipment is of the highest standard
  • Following agreed event procedures for the management and running of any events
  • Office administration, managing e-mail and telephone and responding to queries in a timely manner

Reporting, Faults and Projects

  • Ensure that all faults and incidents are reported in the correct way and in a timely manner
  • Assist with first line fault repairs
  • Reporting maintenance issues and arranging repairs when necessary
  • Regular written and verbal reporting of site and statistical status and progress of project work
  • Provide regular feedback on communication issues and service improvements
  • Support ad-hoc project work, as reasonably required

Training and Collaboration

  • Document support processes and procedures which are to be periodically updated
  • Mentor other members of the team, including cover technicians
  • Assist with the training of all technical team members including members of other support teams such as Service Desk
