Onshore Termination & Joint Inspector

  • Overseeing the inspection and quality assurance processes for jointing, termination, and testing of cables during the onshore Testing and Termination (T&T) phase of project execution.
  • Serving as the designated representative for the inspection and quality assurance of HVDC and HVAC cables at the project site.
  • Familiarizing oneself with quality Technical Requirements (TRs) and relevant CIGRE standards, ensuring suppliers' compliance with these specifications.
  • Conducting inspections of cable systems, including HVC termination at joint Bay locations, adhering to project requirements, TRs, standards, and utilizing designated inspection reporting tools.
  • Witnessing various cable tests such as sheath, HVRT, AC and DC, OTDR testing, and any other required cable or termination tests.
  • Reviewing T&T-related documents and procedures to ensure alignment with accepted Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) standards from suppliers/contractors before the onshore T&T campaign.
  • Upholding and enforcing Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) requirements at the project site.
  • Compiling and submitting Daily Progress Reports (DPR) to the Export Cable Technical Scope Manager, updating progress tables as necessary.
  • Ensuring the proper implementation of Permit to Work (PtW) procedures before T&T activities commence at the site.
  • Facilitating effective communication and coordination with Landfall, Onshore installation contractor, Converter station, and Transmission System Operator (TSO) teams at the site.
  • Developing or adapting inspection checklists for testing activities during onshore T&T phase, including the use of Digital Inspection Tool (DIT).
  • Ensuring cable T&T activities are conducted in a safe environment and within established timelines, including verifying the availability of calibrated test equipment at the site.
  • Monitoring weather conditions and ensuring T&T activities align with acceptable weather windows at the site.
  • Handing over and sharing daily shift reports with the Export Cable Technical Scope Manager.
  • Taking charge of Management of Change responsibilities.
  • Managing punch lists, handover certification, Non-Conformance Report (NCR) management, and coordinating with the Losses and Liabilities (LL) system in Synergi during onshore T&T phase. This involves communicating any non-conformance, damage, or defect notifications at the site to the Export Cable Technical Scope Manager.
  • Reviewing and accepting as-built documentations related to Testing and Termination.
  • Participating in both internal team and external supplier T&T-related meetings.
