My client, a well known and established business are currently looking for a 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their support team to carry out a mixture of hands on, project and service desk support at 2nd line level.

This role will also include IT project work which will allow you to work with senior members of the team carrying out anything from maintenance, upgrades on hardware and software all the way through to full site infrastructure installs.

My client is offering paid overtime, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, career progression, training on the latest hardware and software tech (Cloud included), paid for MS certifications, relaxed working environment and pool cars if required to travel.

Daily duties

Ability to diagnose and resolve support queries

Use various resources, including other members of the team, to resolve issues efficiently

Create documentation and guides, including new articles for the team knowledgebase

Troubleshoot technical issues in a methodical and dynamic manner

Resolve or escalate problems and service requests according to established procedures

Work proactively to ensure prompt resolution of support cases and the highest possible levels of customer satisfaction.

Raise, update and close calls on service desk support system.

Knowing when to escalate tickets to the appropriate resources and likewise provide assistance to other members of the teamSkills required

Experience with various versions of Windows (7, 8, 10, server 2008 R2, 2012)

Basic Windows Server Environment experience involving administration, troubleshooting, maintenance and backup/restore

Active Directory including Security groups, user creation and administration

Group Policy creation, amendments and troubleshooting

DNS both internal/external and web based

DHCP (server and router based)

Office 365 and Microsoft exchange setup, administration and troubleshooting

Router setup and troubleshooting

Mobile Device Management / administration

Hardware troubleshooting and maintenance

Antivirus and malware protection
