ESS Recruit’s client was founded in 2016 after winning the prestigious Scottish Higgs EDGE 2016 for its development of a Graphene layer manufacturing process.

With industry standard cycle times to produce Graphene in the region of 16 hours RD Graphene’s disruptive (patent pending) design for manufacture (DfM) process (patent pending) creates 3D graphene in seconds and therefore enables high volume manufacture.



To support the Operation team, we are looking for a hands-on R&D Technical lead to join our team of engineers dedicated to scale up products in the energy fields.



The successful candidate will lead the research and development activities for supercapacitors products.



Duties and responsibilities include:



Provide expert electrochemistry guidance to the Supercapacitors R&D group.

Be knowledgeable about test methods used to determine physical characteristics of the material as well as its performance in the end use application.

Develop expertise in appropriate materials technology, as necessary to plan, execute and evaluate laboratory and machine-based trial programs, using the Design of Experiments methodology

Perform supercapacitors failure analysis.

Use appropriate DFSS/DFM tools and Stage Gate process for development projects.

Work with manufacturing, purchasing and technology on Margin Improvement Initiatives (MIPs).

Communicate plans and results effectively.

Provide technical reports and presentations to internal and external project. Education and experience:



PhD OR MS degree in Electrochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, plus 5 years relevant R&D work experience.

Strong leadership, project management, time management and communication skills.

Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
