C# Software Engineer

A globally leading proprietary trading organisation is searching for a talented software engineer. It employs some of the most talented traders, developers and engineers in the market, executing a diverse range of strategies across global equity and derivatives markets. It is the most active participant in a number of the products it trades, contributing significant liquidity to many European markets. The company’s culture is collaborative, informal and highly rewarding of strong performance.
The Options Tech Team within the business is an exceptional team of C# and C++ developers that takes collective ownership of in-house developed trading systems, applications, tools, frameworks and spreadsheets. The team is responsible for the full product stack, from web based front-ends through to low latency order execution systems and high availability databases.
They sit on the trading floor and work directly with traders in defining and improving their toolset. They pride themselves on being able turn around new features within a matter of hours, allowing them to deliver immediate value to the front office and see the impact of changes straight away. Because of this they are in a unique position to have a direct impact on trading revenue.
They are looking for a C# developer to join their world class team, to work with them to enhance their offering. The role will address both the current live, longer-term projects already underway as well as jumping onto new work that is in the pipeline. As the successful candidate, you would hit the ground running, quickly gaining an understanding of how their systems fit together so you can start developing new features and enhancements as required.
§ Developing software for traders, either by enhancing existing applications or creating new applications
§ Working alone or in a team
§ All code to be tested in an automated fashion to a high degree
§ Documenting new features and new applications, ensuring all stakeholders are aware of what changes are happening
§ Collaborating with IT Ops, ensuring all software is able to be supported, and helping with first line support
§ To comply with all applicable laws, Compliance policies, procedures and regulations.
§ Excellent C# ability including TDD
§ Business communication skills & ability to present information clearly and concisely;
§ Efficient and diligent with a strong attention to detail
§ Bachelor Degree with a minimum 2.1 grade or equivalent.
§ Web UI Frameworks (e.g. JQuery, Knockout, Bootstrap, Nancy, OpenRasta)
§ Test Frameworks (NUnit, MSpec, mocking frameworks)
§ Front end design and UI architecture
§ Database design - both SQL & NOSQL
§ Mobile/tablet application development
§ Excel addin design / Excel DNA
§ Functional programming
§ Sound knowledge of financial markets & securities (particularly futures & options)
