It’s mentoring the team that gives you job satisfaction. You want to coach and develop your team to do their best. You’d like to do more of it in your current job but the work environment doesn’t support you to do that. Seeing your team develop into engineers that have an eye for quality, who take care in their work, is very rewarding for you.

You pride yourself on taking on the challenges of leading people and projects, and you take those challenges head-on. This is your chance to use your expertise to grow and develop the more junior engineers and give confidence to the more senior engineers to lead themselves and others. You’ll also have the opportunity to spot when something can be improved, for the betterment of everyone, and you’ll have the authority to implement those changes. You can’t stand a slow day. That’s why a job with multiple short projects and opportunities to use your brain appeal so much to you. Before you know it, its the end of the day.

The company is likely to grow from its current base of 26 people up to over 80 people in the next few years. In order to achieve that growth they need you to act as the manager and leader for the design team, to help free up time for the Directors to push the business on. This level of growth is because they are a structural and civil engineering consultancy working in the telecoms industry. The introduction of 5G means that most of the equipment on the towers and masts is going to double in weight, and this will create new challenges for the existing structures.

Naturally, this level of company growth means even more opportunity for you. Expect to progress as the company does.

In order to successfully lead the technical elements of the work you’ll need a minimum of an HND in civil or structural engineering. Your thinking style is likely to be highly logical with a practical approach to problem solving.

Lastly, this is a social business, with a culture of openness, honesty and plain speaking. They approach their suppliers and customers with flexibility and strive to be responsive. I know this because I work with them and I consider them one of the best clients I have ever worked with. And that’s with 13 years in the recruiting business.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t have an up-to-date CV, apply now and I’ll walk you through it.

Candidates with previous experience in or job titles including Site Engineer, Senior Design Engineer, Structural Engineer, Civil Engineer, Senior Engineer or Principal Engineer are all welcome.
