Linux Engineer (SRE) - Investment Banking - £90,000k - £100,000k + Excellent Benefits

Overview:
An excellent opportunity has arisen with a Tier 1 Investment Bank in the heart of the City, looking for a Linux SRE to join their platform engineering function. You will be responsible for delivering continuous improvement, automation and self service offerings to operational teams.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Deliver continuous service improvement by developing Infrastructure as Code
• Improve system performance, make effective use of resources, distribute load and reduce latency
• Develop pro-active monitoring solutions that alert on symptoms and not just on outages
• Ensure all project/investment workloads are delivered according to plans and budget defined
• Build strong working relationships across the organisation
• Perform daily health and compliance checks for all systems as required
• Provide technical support to application support and development teams
• Provide consultancy to application support and development teams

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience working with Linux technologies (RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS)
• Experience working with AMX/Ansible Tower
• Kubernetes/Docker experience

Desirable:

• Experience with either of the following programming languages such as Python, Perl or Bash.
• Docker and Kubernetes experience.
• Excellent knowledge of continuous integration (CI) and continuous development (CD) principles and practices.
• Configuration management software such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform and SaltStack.

• £90,000 - £100,000
