The role of .NET Developer is to support the development, maintenance and support of effective relational database systems (e.g. MS SQL Server), reporting environments, data transfers and interfaces (primarily web interfaces). The Developer's work will accurately and reliably support contract winning and delivery, as well as the business systems of the UK branch, working under the Head of Web and Systems Development.
This role is required in order to maintain delivery capacity within the System Development team. The digital team continues to see demand for building and supporting Microsoft .NET based systems.
This role also encompasses the requirement for experience in usability (UX). This is to include customer mapping, UX methodologies, UI design experience and multivariant testing experience.
Supporting new and on-going developments of applications in MS SQL Server and .NET (C#, Web Forms and MVC and .NET Core)
Managing designated IT projects using sound project management principles
Support and advice to internal consultants on technology solutions
Analyse and understand detailed business requirements
Develop design specifications in accordance with business requirements and issues
Develop, deliver and test software prototypes
UX development and management
Co-ordinate with other developers and software professionals
Develop software, architecture, specifications and technical interfaces
Develop user interfaces (UI)
Analyse, develop and implement testing procedures, programming and documentation
Design, code, debug, test and record software as per organisation’s systems standards, policies, procedures and security requirements
Responding to client and end user feedback and fixing of identified problems.
Other regular activity
Preparing technical documentation of new and existing web and database applications
Supporting the maintenance and upgrading of web/database applications
Maintaining backup/recovery strategies, monitoring client data loads, error checking, and performance tuning for databases and data warehouses
Business development, support for proposal planning, writing and costing and other pre-sales activity
Actively identifying and communicating improvements in the work process for customers and peers
