Electrical Engineer - Heavy Engineering

Leeds, 32k, No weekends or night shift!

Monday to Friday, 6am-2pm / 2pm - 10pm rotating

25 days holiday + bank

Holiday pay accrued on all overtime and paid as bonus

We are currently looking for a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer with confident mechanical and electrical skills for a manufacturer based in Leeds. You will be required to undertake both reactive and proactive maintenance on a range of production equipment implementing improvements where possible. We are happy to consider candidates with either a mechanical or electrical bias who have experience within a tradition engineering environment with welding, fabrication and metal forming machinery such as CNC and press brakes.

Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager the Maintenance Engineer will:

Strive to improve the efficiency and eliminate costs from the business

Repair and maintain all factory equipment and machinery in a timely and efficient manner

Follow work schedules and react to production priorities

Ensure the workshop area is maintained according to housekeeping standards

Understand and follow departmental operating procedures OEE / Downtime / PPM / TPM

Complete all relevant paperwork in a timely manner

Assist with projects to increase machine efficiencies, ensuring manufacturing equipment is working at full capacity and minimising downtime

Stripping down and rebuilding equipment

Installing and commissioning of machinery

As the Electrcial Maintenance Engineer you will:

Hold a recognised mechanical or electrical qualification in engineering and / or have served and apprenticeship

Ideally have worked in metal forming, injection moulding, pressings or similar heavy industry environment

Familiar with the installation and commissioning of new plant equipment

Ideally have previous experience within a company who has implemented lean / continuous improvement techniques

Be multi-skilled with confident knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics and hydraulics.

Ideally have confident welding and machining skills

Have a proactive can do attitude

Be able to work well on you own or as part of a team

Have a can-do attitude and be able to work on your own initiative
